Just to pay his doctor’s bills
He’s yet to meet his new-born child

I met a man imprisoned for seven years
We sat and smoked, and drank whiskey and beer

I missed my wife more than I thought I would do

Infidelities put a flaw line through a love once perfect

He said he always put a roof over his wife and his kids
But the prospect of a better life was one that he couldn’t miss

From all that I’ve learned, my fingers still get burned
From all that I’ve seen, my nose don’t stay clean
From all that I’ve known, I’ve learned but I’ve not grown
And sometimes I’ve been known to get it wrong
